Tax Relief for All PA Homeowners
Pennsylvania homeowners will receive nearly $770 million in property tax relief in 2009, delivering on Governor Rendell’s promise to help reduce the burden of property taxes.
Approximately 123,500 Pennsylvania seniors will pay no school property taxes again this year, thanks to state-funded property tax relief, and many more will receive rebates of up to $975 in addition to the property tax relief that all homeowners receive.
Again this year, gaming revenue will reduce annual statewide school district property tax bills by about 10 percent, averaging nearly $200 for 2.7 million households across the state. Click here for an estimate of the amount of property tax relief in each school district.
Eligible senior citizens can benefit from both this general property tax relief and the state’s Property Tax/Rent Rebate program. For approximately 123,500 senior households taking advantage of both programs, school property taxes will be eliminated. Learn more
